Brush Strokes 'n Stitches Prim Plain Jane Doll with Brown Hair Jane's eyes are french knots and so are the designs on her legs, with cross stitches on her arms. The shoes are a daisy stitch and at the bottom of her dress I put a blanket stitch and a simple heart on her chest. The black haired doll has three of the vintage buttons attached by rusty safety pins, and the fourth button is sewn on. The brown haired doll has all the buttons sewn on. I have tied a bow made of jute around her neck. I have used jute to sew on her arms. After I had embroidered the doll I then stained and baked her with a coffee, cinnamon, vanilla mixture with a touch of molasses. I then sanded her down just to the point where some of the stitching is starting to fray, and some broken. This just adds a warmer, worn vintage look to the doll. I then took her one step further and dunked her good into a thick mixture of coffee, cinnamon, vanilla and molasses, and then I baked her again. She smells so good!
